Ensemble Kopernikus with Ian Tindale (piano)

Fauré - Violin Sonata No. 1 in A major
Schubert - Notturno in E flat major, D.897
Fauré - Sicilienne
Fauré - Élégie
Fauré - Papillons
Walton - Piano Quartet in D minor

Ian Tindale - Piano
Kasia Zimińska – Violin
Otoha Tabata – Viola
Alice Purton – Cello

Led by Ian Tindale, the Ensemble Kopernikus is an exciting young chamber group, praised for its imaginative programmes which combine well-known works with rarely- performed gems.

Some of Fauré’s most beautiful chamber works, including his masterful violin sonata, are juxtaposed with Walton’s little-played piano quartet with its cryptic Ripon connection. Schubert’s strangely neglected but sublime Notturno for string trio provides the classical reference point in this concert of contrasts.

“Inspired performance, assured, superbly played, well balanced and with excellent attention to the ensemble sound” chiswickw4.com
